This unique, limited-edition boxed set offers 50 CDs of the greatest choral masterpieces of the past 500 years, stretching from Renaissance Masses and the glories of the Baroque and Classical eras through to the major works of the Romantic era and the diversity of the 20th and 21st centuries, all in some of the greatest recordings ever committed to disc.
Western art music owes its very existence to the church: harmony and multi-stranded polyphony derive from the work of church musicians working across Europe 500 years ago, seeking either to expiate sins or glorify and magnify the Almighty with praises: hence the title `Magnificat'.
The performances include an array of stellar artists in exceptional - even legendary - recordings from two of classical music's greatest labels, Decca and Deutsche Grammophon. Citing just some: John Eliot Gardiner's definitive Bach B Minor Mass, and St John Passion, famed Monteverdi Vespers and Brahms Requiem readings; Peter Schreier's Award-winning Mozart Requiem; Paul McCreesh's Haydn Creation and Schütz Vespers; Giulini's Rossini Stabat Mater; Solti's incandescent Verdi Requiem and Mahler Symphony No. 8; Christopher Hogwood's incisive period-instrument Messiah; the acclaimed Walton Belshazzar's Feast with Bryn Terfel; Britten's own definitive War Requiem and Bernstein's interpretation of his Chichester Psalms among many others. Sung texts - including a translation into English where appropriate - are included on a special bonus CD
A 160-page booklet offers detailed tracklistings, full artist and production information including details on recording dates and venues and producers. A 4000-word essay by noted choral music writer Andrew Stewart is provided in English, French and German.

Leonard Bernstein's Young People's Concerts with the New York Philharmonic stand among his greatest achievements. These televised programs introduced an entire generation to the joys of classical music. Bernstein conducted his first Young People's Concert on January 18, 1958, just two weeks after becoming Music Director of the New York Philharmonic. Such programs were already a Philharmonic tradition when Bernstein arrived, but he made them a centerpiece of his work, part of what he described as his "educational mission." Looking back on the concerts years later, he referred to them as being "among my favorite, most highly prized activities of my life." When he took a sabbatical season from the orchestra in 1964-65, he still came back to lead the Young People's Concerts. He continued to lead these programs until 1972, even though he had stepped down as director of the Philharmonic in 1969. Bernstein led a total of fifty-three Young People's Concerts during those fourteen years, and covered a broad range of subjects. The works of the great composers were explored, including tributes to modern masters such as Dmitri Shostakovich, Paul Hindemith, Gustav Holst, Aaron Copland and Charles Ives. Bernstein discussed "Jazz in the Concert Hall," "Folk Music in the Concert Hall," and "The Latin-American Spirit." He explained the intricacies of Music Theory in programs such as "Musical Atoms: A Study of Intervals" and "What is a Mode?" He broached complex aesthetic issues such as "What Does Music Mean?" (his first program) with clarity and without condescension. Bernstein also used the Young People's Concerts to introduce young performers to the musical world. The sixteen year-old pianist André Watts made his debut in the concert of January 15, 1963. Originally broadcast on Saturday mornings, the programs were considered so important that for three glorious years CBS presented them at 7:30 p.m. (prime time for television viewing). Eventually the programs were moved to Sunday afternoons. The concerts were translated into other languages and syndicated to forty countries.

Even as it sounds very simple, it is quite challenging to find really cheap ones with high quality. So, I've gathered some information on where to find great deals on clothes for babies.
Online Shopping
More and more people have discovered that the World Wide Web is a great place to shop. You can find a wide array of cheap baby clothes there, from jammies to cute little dresses for kids. Aside from eBay, you can also get a hold of great finds in Craigslist and Freecycle.
In shopping online, it is important to take the time you need in comparing prices. Don't hesitate to purchase used clothes as they are the cheapest. We all know how babies grow fast. With used clothes, you are most likely to end up with a never-been-used, used-once, or perhaps brand-new-without-tag if you're lucky.
Garage Sale
Your neighborhood, if it is catering to a lot of families, is bound to have a garage sale at some point. This is perhaps the most secure way of purchasing cheap baby clothes as you know them and vice versa.
If your local vicinity doesn't have any garage sale, then letting parents know that you are looking for great deals on baby clothing will be glad to offer what they have with a price. In fact, you can even start your own garage sale. There are many entrepreneurs who purchase second-hand clothes, clean them up, and sell them to other prospective parents.
Great Shop Bargains and Discounts
You are not the only one affected by recession. Businesses, too, are struggling in selling their product to consumers. Indeed, the buying power of people decreased over time. So, they try to offer discounted offers, and sale. You can find cheap clothes with 50% off tags.
You might also want to check out charity stores near you. There are a lot of cheap baby clothing with a price range between 1 and 5 dollars or less. You can be on the lookout for any stores that are bound to close. They are more likely to have clearing sale when the store closes.

Swapping is a great idea for parents with a lot of extra clothing for baby. You can plan this event and invite all the parents in your neighborhood to bring in the clothes they are no longer using.
Seasonal Clothes
We all know how expensive winter clothes are during winter and summer clothes during summer. Indeed, as demands increase, so will the price. Therefore, you might want to purchase winter clothes during summer, and the other way around. You will find that the items that you usually get for 0 in season will be priced at 50% off.
Just as with all the items you shop for, price also varies with demand. There are still a lot of techniques in finding cheap baby clothes. Hey, you can even find great friends along the way.
